"I create indoor/outdoor furniture that displays a high level of craftsmanship, detail, and reconnects people with nature through the honesty of natural materials." -Kyle Heffernan
Kyle Heffernan, a recent graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, received his Bachelors Degree in Product / Industrial Design with honors. After graduation, Kyle began working at Cliff Spencer Furniture Maker in Marina Del Rey, CA, where he utilized his exceptional woodworking skills to create custom pieces of furniture and cabinetry. After months of polishing his hands-on skills, he began working for, and continues to work at RH (Restoration Hardware) in Beverly Hills, CA. Since graduating in May 2012, Kyle continues to design and sell furniture in his hometown of Redondo Beach, CA. Other than designing, his passions include surfing and rock climbing.
Once I started college, my designs were able to come to life due to constructive faculty feedback, classmate's guidance, and endless resources. I remember a life-long statement my father once told me:
"Always take pride in what you do."
More than any lesson, these words have shaped my outlook on designs and products. I will continue to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired through the years to deliver high quality, handmade pieces that consumers can connect with on visual and personal level. I thank each person who has taken the time to read this and hope I get the opportunity to meet each of you.
